| Eligibility:

• Be a United States citizen, national, refugee or permanent resident alien at the time of application.
  
  
• Demonstrate financial need:
  
  - For Undergraduate students defined by the US Department of Education rules for need-based Federal financial aid (if you have questions, please check with the UNM Financial Aid office).

  
  
  
• Be pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in at least one of the following disciplines:
  Biological Sciences: Biology
  Computer Science
  Engineering: including Chemical, Civil, Computer, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, or Nuclear
  engineering; and students who have been admitted into the pre-major engineering program (intending to
  major in Engineering or Computer Science)
  Geosciences: Earth and Planetary Sciences or Environmental Sciences
  Mathematical Sciences: Mathematics or Statistics
  Physical Sciences: Chemistry, Physics, or Astrophysics.
• Full-time enrollment (a minimum of 12 credit hours) during the semester receiving the scholarship.
  
  
• Demonstrate academic potential or ability:
