Bringing Writing to the Classroom, Creatively

A two-day institute for middle school and high school teachers of English and language arts. Time and space to read, write, think, and talk with other teachers and writers. Participants choose a subject and work with the same group throughout the Institute.

This year’s Conference on Writing will be held at Los Poblanos Cultural Center in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Los Poblanosis one of New Mexico’s premier historic sites, with buildings designed by John Gaw Meem in a fabulous natural setting.

The Institute provides lunch on both days and will accommodate out-of-town participants at the Hotel Albquerque in Old Town for Sunday and Monday nights.

The Teachers’ Institute is free of charge to teachers working in New Mexico.

Teachers from outside New Mexico will be accommodated on a space available basis with a registration fee of $350.
