Welcome Back!

Letter from President Shine Anthony

Welcome back, returning ANTS members and welcome aboard newly joined members. We hope you have had a wonderful holiday and are now ready to hit the books once again. This semester may have some ups and downs, so let the ANTS lounge be a place where you can come and release some of the stresses of your daily grind. This will also give you an opportunity to meet new people and maybe make new friends. Just a reminder of some scheduled events. We will be having out first general meeting on September 25th at 5:30 pm, so please come if your schedule permits it. UNM is having a Red Rally on the 25th (prep rally before the football game with NMSU), Fall Frenzy 26th (clean up the campus day) and Homecoming Week is from September 29th to October 4th of September. We will be announcing our Pot Luck Day soon, so watch the white board for that date. Good luck everyone, may you have a happy and productive semester.

What's New?

Classes Start August 25th, 2008!

About Ants

The UNM Association for Non-Traditional Students (ANTS) is a student-run organization which offers non-traditional students a variety of resources, information, and peer support networks to assist in acclimating and succeeding in the university environment.

Membership is open to any student registered at UNM. Typically members are adults pursuing a career change, students returning after time away from college, transfer students, and first-time adult college students. In the ANTS lounge, members can relax, do homework, use the computer, eat lunch, play games, and meet people with similar goals, situations and issues.

Join ANTS today and take advantage of our many resources, peer networks, and great conversation! The membership fee is $8.00 per semester ($15.00 for the whole year -- Fall & Spring).

Where are we located?

The ANTS members' lounge and office are located on the Plaza (ground floor) of the beautiful new Student Union Building (the SUB!) in room 1063. If you are taking the big central staircase from the main level, take a left at the landing. At the bottom (you are facing west) you will see several doors into offices. We are the second door (just slightly to the right). If you are already on the plaza floor you can still orient from the foot of the staircase.

For more information about ANTS, drop by the lounge, call (505)277-4150, or e-mail antsunm@unm.edu. To report a problem with the website, or to make suggestions for additions or changes, please email Webmaster: Andy Garcia-Godoy.
