Duties and responsibilities: The Intern will complete a project to be determined by the Bunting Visual Resources Library. The project must be related to the student's primary area of study. Projects may include:

   • researching or cataloging visual resources collections
   • developing indices and guides to the collections
   • assisting in classification system design for the collections
   • enhancing  the VIRCONA database.  

The Intern is expected to work ten hours per week during the Spring or Fall semester.

Stipend: The terms of the award will be $2,750.00 plus tuition remission and insurance benefits for the semester.

Eligibility: Selection criteria for the Visual Resources Internship are as follows:

   • academic preparation and knowledge in the history of art related to the arts 
     of the Americas
   • interest in or previous experience in special collections, archival or visual 
     resources work
   • two recommendations from individuals familiar with the applicant's              
     academic and/or work experience
   • a personal statement relating how the internship would benefit the 
     applicant's career, specifying the area(s) of the arts of the Americas 
     of interest
   • legal authorization to work in the U.S.A.
