Dates
The schedule of
the Center for English Language and American Culture corresponds with
the regular University schedule. There are two 16-week semesters and
an 8-week summer session.

Short Summer Session (4 weeks) - June 9 – July 3
Summer Intersession –Aug 4 – Aug 14
* Fall 2008 (16 weeks) Aug. 25- Dec 20
* Spring, 2009 (16 weeks) Jan. 20 - May 16
* Summer, 2009 (8 weeks) June 8 – Aug 1
* Fall, 2009 (16 weeks) Aug. 9 - Dec. 19
* Spring, 2010 (16 weeks) Jan. 19 - May. 15

Payment can be made by traveler's checks, money orders, personal checks,
cash or credit card at the beginning of each semester.
REFUND POLICY:
*Last day to drop a 16 week class (fall or spring) to receive 100% tuition
refund: Must be before the end of the 3rd week of classes.
*Last day to drop an 8 week summer class to receive 100% tuition refund:
Must be before the end of the 2nd week of classes.
*After these dates there is no refund available unless by prior arrangement
and agreement, or for unusual circumstances, such as a medical or family
emergency.
INSURANCE
The US customs and Immigration Service requires all international students
to have major medical and accident insurance which includes repatriation
and medical evacuation of $10,000 minimum coverage. Students can purchase
this insuranceupon arrival at UNM or provide proof that they have a policy
offering equal insurance coverage from their own country (must provide
an English translation). Prices for insurance at UNM are as follows :
Fall - $202.00 , Spring- $278.00 , Summer - $101
Additional insurance for a spouse or children is available but is quite
costly.
