   CIVIL ENGINEERING DEGREE »

The Civil Engineering program is a broad discipline dedicated to the planning, design, construction and operation of facilities need to meet humanity’s basic needs and desires.  The program is designed to enable future engineers to enjoy both the opportunity to tackle a wide variety of problems and the satisfaction of being at the forefront of action in serving society.  The Civil Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The BSCE requires 130 credits of coursework.  A thorough knowledge of the physical sciences, math, and engineering is developed during the first two years followed by the civil engineering classes and capped by a senior design course in which teams of students work on real engineering projects.  The technical side is balanced with requirements in writing, humanities, social science, and a second language.
