CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING »
The Construction Engineering program is a blend of engineering, construction, and construction management courses. This program is designed for those who want to work in the construction industry and enjoy the status of a professional engineer. It is somewhat similar to the Construction Management program but has more emphasis on engineering and technical courses. The Construction Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
The BS in Construction Engineering requires 130 credits of coursework. A thorough knowledge of the physical sciences, math, and engineering is developed during the first two years followed by the civil engineering and construction classes and capped by a senior design course in which teams of students work on real engineering projects. The technical side is balanced with requirements in writing, humanities, social science, and a second language.
