Imaging of Carbon Nanotubes and Fibers. At 1 kV you see the surface topography and particles on the surface, at 5 kV you see all of the particles, on the top and bottom surfaces

Imaging of Au nanoparticles in mesoporous silica. At 1 kV we can see clearly the pores in this SBA-15 structure. The Au particles on the surface can also be seen in BSE images. At 5 kV we can look ‘inside’ the particle and see lots more of the Au particles indicating they are distributed throughout the silica, not just on the surface. |
