LOBOrientation/Summer Orientation
All Freshman new to the University of New Mexico attend LOBOrientation. This LOBOrientation is a two-day program designed to prepare students for college life. Students learn about opportunities to get involved in. They become part of the education process and learn about university services and policies. Students get academic advisement and will be able to register for classes early. For more information on LOBOrientation visit: http://www.unm.edu/~nso/
On the second day of LOBOrientation, students meet with their academic advisors. Students must indicate on the UNM Undergraduate Admissions Application their interest in engineering or computer science. The Admissions department will place the student in the LOBOrientation group with students of the same academic interests. ESS Academic advisement will discuss degree requirements/policies within the School of Engineering (SOE) and provide information on introductory engineering course requirements in addition to UNM Core and degree requirements.
