UNM’s World Language Expo is a high-energy event with dozens of language and culture workshops, competitions and demonstrations. Past Expos have included Tai Chi, Kendo, Argentinean mate, Latin dancing, how to make crêpes and chocolate truffles, how to speak Russian, Czech and Welsh, Swedish and many more. Our Expo guarantee is that participants will leave knowing a little bit more about the world they live in. We will be listing the various workshops and competition rules on-line and updating these every few days, beginning Feb. 13 at www.unm.edu/~fll. For more information, contact Marina Peters-Newell at mpnewell@unm.edu. Meter parking and open lot parking on campus is free on Saturday. The closest parking to Ortega Hall is the west side of campus in the parking lots just east of University Blvd. If you are coming in a school bus, the best drop-off point is the round-about in front of Dane Smith Hall (take Yale south from Lomas). Buses can then park in the T-Lot (located on southwest corner of Lomas and University). |
