The Interfraternity Council is the governing body of the nationally recognized fraternity chapters at the University of New Mexico. The Interfraternity Council oversees six social fraternities providing programming and leadership opportunities within the Greek community.

The Interfraternity Council strives to address the issues that face all fraternities. This governing council works on issues such as housing, health/wellness education, academic support, and chapter programming initiatives. IFC plan fraternity-wide community service projects and recruitment events. IFC also sponsors members to attend regional and national leadership conferences.

Each fraternity sends representatives to weekly meetings to discuss the future of the fraternity community. Officers are selected annually and help to provide a united perspective to campus administrators and outside constituents.

The IFC @ UNM has been recognized by the Western Regional Greek Leadership Conference for its successful programming initiatives.
