Secondary School Special SessionAs companion programming to the annual Space Design Competition, each year the Institute’s outreach activities include a Secondary School Special Session. All students and teachers who participate in the design competition are invited to this “junior plenary,” which includes guest speakers on topics related to the current competition theme. Astronauts and research scientists from NASA and top aerospace companies around the country have traveled to Albuquerque to speak at the session. Speaker topics for STAIF-2007 will be posted here as soon as decided. New Mexico secondary school teachers are strongly encouraged to make their voices heard in the development of the 2007 program. Teachers: How You Can HelpThe Education Outreach Committee for STAIF-2007 is seeking secondary school teachers from across New Mexico interested in serving on the education outreach committee. This committee meets once a year in the summer to brainstorm topics for the following year's special session, as well as contribute to the space design competition process. Joining the committee helps your students get the most out of the Institute's outreach activities, and does not involve a large commitment of time or energy. Interested in serving on the committee? Please contact us at (505) 277-0446, or by email, isnps@unm.edu
