Hotel for STAIF-2008

Old TownSTAIF moved to a new venue for 2007, the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town. Newly renovated, this landmark hotel in the heart of Albuquerque's vibrant historic district is a unique blend of Native American, Mexican, Spanish, and Western cultural traditions.

Adjacent to the hotel is Old Town with over 200 restaurants, shops, and galleries. Just steps away are the Albuquerque Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History, and Explora Science Center and the Albuquerque Aquarium. Hotel Albuquerque is equipped with high speed wireless internet, on-site audio/visual, and an automated business center.

Reserving Your Room at Hotel Albuquerque

Attendees are responsible for making their own reservations directly with the hotel. A block of rooms have been set aside for attendees at a special rate (see below).  Reservations should be made directly through the hotel' directly at 505.843.6300 or 1.800.237.2133 or 1.866. 505.STAY (7829) by the cut-off date of January 25, 2008 in order to qualify for that rate.  After January 25, rooms may still be available, but reservations will be accepted on a space available and rate available basis only.

Room Rates

The preferred rates are based on the current Federal Government Per Diem and are subject to change.  The hotel will charge the Federal Government Per Diem in effect at the time of the conference.  In order to receive the preferred rates individuals must identify themselves with the Space Technology and Applications International Forum (STAIF-2008).  Rates cannot be changed at check-in or check-out time for guests who fail to identify their affiliation with STAIF at the time reservations are requested.

All reservations must be guaranteed with a one night's deposit in the form of check, money order, or credit card. Check-in time is 3:00 pm, check-out time is 12:00 noon.

Directions

From the Albuquerque Sunport (airport):

  1. Start out going EAST on SUNPORT BLVD SE toward SUNPORT LOOP SE.
  2. SUNPORT BLVD SE becomes SUNPORT LOOP SE.
  3. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto SUNPORT BLVD SE.
  4. Merge onto I-25 N toward I-40 / DOWNTOWN & SANTA FE.
  5. Merge onto I-40 W via EXIT 226AB toward GALLUP.
  6. Take the RIO GRANDE BLVD. exit- EXIT 157A.
  7. Turn LEFT onto RIO GRANDE BLVD NW / NM-194 S.
  8. End at 800 Rio Grande Blvd Nw.
  9. Total Distance: 8.48 miles
