Just like the landscaping in our yard.

Southwest landscaping does not have to be solely cactus, nor should it look like the midwest or the coast (any coast). Albuquerque is in the high desert and the landscape should reflect that. This is what we are doing with our yard.

We started by clearing out all the tumbleweed from the front and back couryards. The front yard had no sage in it, the back did. We tried to save it, but couldn't. Oh well, there is lots of sage outside the courtyards.

We will start with the front courtyard.

The back courtyard is less finished.

Next year we will work on the rest of the yard, and put more stuff in the back courtyard.

Outside the masterbedroom bath is a small courtyard probably designed for a hot tub.
