School of Law Presents Lecture on World Intellectual Property Organization

WipoTodd Larson will present “An Introduction to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) – its History, Mandate, Status as a United Nations Entity and Current Areas of Focus” at the UNM School of Law, rm. 2406 on Monday, Feb. 12, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Larson serves as senior counselor at the New York Coordination Office of the World Intellectual Property Organization. Based at United Nations headquarters, Larson undertakes extensive outreach throughout North America on behalf of WIPO.

WIPO is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It is dedicated to developing a balanced and accessible international intellectual property system, which rewards creativity, stimulates innovation and contributes to economic development while safeguarding the public interest.

The event is sponsored by UNM student organizations Intellectual Property Matters and International Law Students Association with special funding provided by Deborah Peacock and Jeff Myers of Peacock Myers, P.C., an Albuquerque firm specializing in intellectual property law services.
