Since 1990 the Institute for Medieval Studies has held the highly lauded Spring Lecture Series. This unique series, that is free and open to the public, offers four days of lectures, delivered by internationally recognized experts, revolving around one medieval topic. Ancillary events further address the interdisciplinary quality of the Institute's programs.

The Weekend Seminars on Medieval Science and Medicine have drawn an ever-growing audience to Northrop Hall on the UNM campus. Shorter in length than the Spring Lecture Series, this very focussed seminar, which is also free and open to the public, offers the same high calibre of presenters.

The Outreach Seminar for Secondary School Teachers is part of a tripartite program that serves New Mexico's secondary school teachers and students alike. Held in late October, this popular seminar offers insight into the most contemporary research on a given topic while presenting a variety of methods for interdisciplinary teaching.
