Topics/Advanced Non-Silver/Digital 429
This course will combine and explore 19th century derived printing processes including, among others, Cyanotype, Van Dyke brown printing, and Palladium printing with negatives derived from various 21st century digital technologies. Students will investigate, through practice and theoretical research, the relationship existing between these distinct expressions. Upon completion of the course, students will accomplish a self-directed project comprising a set of finished works synthesizing processes and concepts learned throughout the course of the semester. (Prerequisites: Intro to Photography 187, Visualizing Ideas 188, and at least two from the following: 287, 288, 289, 385, 389).
