Freshman Scholars must:

1. Have at least a 2.5 GPA at the end of the first semester.

2. Complete 30 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 at the end of the academic year.

3. Must submit sponsor thank you letter by December 1 for the fall semester and March 1 for the spring semester.

Sophomore and Above:

1. Must complete 15 credit hours with a 3.0 G.P.A. each semester for a total of 30 credit hours for the academic year (fall and spring semesters).

2. Must submit sponsor thank you letter by December 1 for the fall semester and March 1 for the spring semester.

3. Policy & Procedures on all Scholarships.

This scholarship is renewable for 4 years (8 consecutive semesters) automatically if you maintain the requirements.

Graduation
To graduate as a Presidential Scholar, you must have received the Presidential Scholarship for a minimum of 75 percent of your eligible semesters.  In addition, you must have earned a 3.0 cumulative GPA.  If you would like to be recognized as a Presidential Scholar in the University of New Mexico commencement ceremony book, please complete the Presidential Scholarship Graduation Date Verification Form located on the Forms page; it must be submitted to our office by April 5 for the Spring Graduation Ceremony and October 5 for the Fall Graduation Ceremony.
