The Centennial Engineering Center

Over 400 people attended the official dedication and ribbon-cutting 147,500 square foot Centennial Engineering Center on September 14. A student-built robot cut the ribbon, visitors attended tours of the new labs and classrooms, and speakers shared their insights about the new building.

School of Engineering Open House

The School of Engineering is hosting an Open House on Saturday, November 8 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. High school students and their families are invited to learn about degrees offered in engineering and computer science and see how UNM engineers and computer scientists are building a better world.

Solar Car to be Developed by UNM Students

UNM Electrical and Computer Engineering Department students will be designing and building a solar-powered car in Dr. Olga Lavrova's Photovoltaics class. With a donation from Sandia National Labs, Dr. Lavorvoa and some of her students were able to present the outer body and the inner frame at the New Mexico Solar Energy Association’s Solar Fiesta in Albuquerque, September 20-21, 2008.
