UNM One-To-One Exchange Application Instructions

The application process is comprised of several sections.

1) Language Approvals
are required for students attending any school in which the language of instruction is NOT English. If this applies to you, you must complete the Language Evaluation form included in the application packet.  Language Evaluations are administered by an instructor from the Spanish & Portuguese Department or the Department of Foreign Languages & Literature.

2) Proposed classes: For the application you should list several courses from the host university catalog that you would like to take.  This is a tentative list and may change later.  Once you have been accepted to a host university, you must meet with your department’s academic advisor to have them assist you in making an appropriate plan of study. A Course Approval form is available at the UNM Admissions office for your advisor to sign.

3) Unofficial Transcript must be submitted with the application.

4) Recommendation Letters - 2 from UNM instructors. These will have to be submitted on letter head stationery as they will be reviewed by the host school.

5) Hard Copy Application Available at the Latin American & Iberian Institute or Office of International Programs & Studies.

6) Interviews and Additional Information
Candidates for exchange programs will be scheduled for a personal interview with a study abroad selection committee.

7) This completes part one of the two part process. Part two includes the application process to the host school. Your study abroad advisor will provide this information.
