Travel & Safety

UNM students are responsible for their own health and safety, resources are available for students to research and become as prepared as possible for any situation. Some countries where students visit will require specific immunizations, while others have no requirements. Students should check the US government's Center For Disease Control Web site for country specific information.

There is good information on health and safety at the Center for Global Education. Check out the Study Abroad Student Handbook for country-specific information. Students are strongly urged, when traveling, to be aware of political situations that may effect their safety. It is a very good idea to check all English speaking government's Web sites for traveler's warnings.
