Roy De Forest
1930-2007

Born in North Platte, Nebraska ,1930                                              
Studied at San Francisco State College (M.A.) and the California School of Fine Arts
Lived and worked in San Francisco, California

Roy De Forest, one of the preeminent artists of the Bay Area, constructs exciting images from his private mythology about journeys taken through fanciful landscapes that are inhabited by questing travelers and canine creatures.

De Forest invites the viewer to create a personal narrative from his aggregations of dogs, farm animals, and an assorted cast of characters set amidst a cacophony of brightly colored and patterned forms.
