WHAT IS WISE?
Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) is a programmatic initiative to attract and retain women in science, engineering, and mathematic majors. WISE is a campus-wide program for all women, whether you are undergraduate, graduate or post-doctorate. Our program works to support women's interest in science, math and engineering through mentoring, networking, enrichment activities and career development. Part of our focus in the WISE Program is to bring women together from around campus to meet, socialize, and discover common interests. We hope that through our efforts, women will become more encouraged to pursue careers in the sciences, maths, and engineering fields. The WISE Program is funded directly by the New Mexico State Legislature. The original funding was sponsored by Representative Danice Picraux.
