WS Faculty Joint Appointment: Kirsten P. Buick

Since 2001, Kirsten P. Buick, Ph.D., has been an Assistant Professor of Art History at the University of New Mexico where her field of research and teaching is art of the United States from the Colonial period to 1945. Her other teaching and research interests include popular culture, women and representation, and African American art. She has taught at Bard College, Williams College, and the University of Chicago. Her book, Child of the Fire: Mary Edmonia Lewis and the Problem of Art History's Black and Indian Subject, will be published by Duke University Press.
