New Mexico Data |
This section of DGR's Web page is intended to provide access
to a variety of tabular, graphic, and map format
data prepared by DGR for clients other than the New Mexico
Traffic Safety
Bureau
(TSB).
In addition, links are provided to other UNM and state government
organizations that also maintain data for public use.
Please refer to the section on
traffic crash data for TSB related information.
DGR has a variety of census,
demographic,
election,
and health care
data related to New Mexico. This data has been used by DGR for
many projects.
DGR is currently preparing dynamic/interactive mapping and
data display facilities using
ESRI's ARC IMS.
Some demonstrations of these interactive mapping facilites are available
from the following links. More can be found on the
traffic crash data page.

Research at UNM
If authorized to do so by the state agencies
that are sponsoring this work,
some of this data will be made available as
this web page develops.
Demonstrations (confidential data removed) will be specially
designed for public use.
Please see the SAS Data and
ArcView Data sections for details.
The
Division of Government Research (DGR) is continuing to develop a web page
for the New Mexico 2000 United States Census and other demographic data.
This web page is part of DGR's public service function at UNM. It is intended
primarily for the public and also other governmental GIS users. In general,
public users do not have sophisticated GIS facilities. This web page will provide
easy access to data in interactive form and also in a simple to use free GIS package
(ESRI's ArcReader).
More sophisticated GIS and statistical users that have their own
facilities will be provided access to this data in ready-to-use formats that
can be further customized to their needs (ArcView, ArcMap, and SAS datasets).
This project (the CAAP - Census Aggregation and Accessibility Project) will
be developed slowly as resources are available.
CAAP.
The Division of Government (DGR) and the New Mexico Health Policy
Commission (NM HPC) recently won the poster contest for analytical
content at the ESRI Southwest User Group Conference (SWUG)
held in Taos, New Mexico October 2002. This poster entitled "Measuring
Geographic Access to Primary Care Physicians in New Mexico" is available
for download as a pdf. Click
here to obtain this poster in either 11x17 inches or 34x44 inches formats.
ArcIMS Demonstrations
The 1990 demonstrations are based on data and census geography derived
from the ESRI Data and Maps CD included with
ESRI's ArcView GIS.
For a description of the demographic data included in
the ZIP Code demonstrations you can
Cilck here.
More 2000 Census data will be available in the future depending on whether
resources to prepare it in conjunction with other funded projects being
conducted at DGR.
