New Mexico SAS Demonstration Data & Macros

The release of SAS demonstration data and Macros are currently pending approval of clients such as the NM TSB and HPC. Hopefully, some SAS demonstration data and a dedicated PC will be available by late fall.

DGR has a considerable amount of ARC/INFO based coverages for the State of New Mexico. These coverages were derived from sources such as the USGS 1:500,000 basemap (statewide), the USGS 1:100,000 metric quadrangle maps (counties), and the US Census Bureau's TIGER files (urban areas). All of DGR's ARC/INFO coverage are updated with many state and local data sources so the contain much more information than the original USGS and US Census Bureau sources.

Many of DGR's ARC/INFO based coverages have been converted to SAS format for use in the (GRNDB) system. This conversion is accomplished by special SAS Macros that can read and write ARC/INFO Export format files. Some of these geographic coverages and Macros are made available here as demonstrations for the use of others.

Portions of some of these SAS files and Macros are made available here as demonstrations for the use of others. This information is in SAS Export format and does require SAS to use it. Also, DGR can not provide any technical assistance for the use of these data files unless prior arrangements have been made.

UNM's CIRT department does not support the HTML FTP facility because of "security" considerations (no public anonymous ftp space is available on UNM's Unix computers). DGR has provided FTP access through a Windows NT server. This FTP and eventually WWW server is in the process of being configured. It will be frequently unavailable until later this fall. Please try downloading these files another time if you have problems.
