Get Connected: NetID

Once you’re admitted to UNM, visit MyUNM and click on “create your UNM NetID.” Select a username. Choose carefully because you can’t change it later and don’t forget your password!

Get $$$: Federal Financial Aid & Scholarships

Complete the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) Learn more about financial aid at the UNM Financial Aid Office website. The UNM priority deadline is March 1, 2009 so do your best to submit your FAFSA by that time. Also, the UNM Scholarship Office is an excellent resource in finding ways to pay for college expenses.

Get a Room: On Campus Housing at UNM

If you want to live on campus, learn more and apply for a dormitory at UNM Housing.

Get Prepared: New Student Orientation

All incoming undergraduate students are required to attend new student orientation. At orientation, you will register for fall classes, get your Lobo Student ID Card, tour campus, and learn about student life. For information about signing up for orientation, visit the website at http://nso.unm.edu/.

Get Completely Admitted: Your Final Credentials

If you have been provisionally admitted pending final credentials, please have them mailed to UNM as soon as possible to:

Get Excited: A Few of the Things to Look Forward to at UNM

Freshmen Academic Choices give new students access to our best instructors every fall. Ask your academic advisor at New Student Orientation about FAC. There are 400+ Student Clubs or Organizations to join. Check them out! There is free tutoring from the Center for Academic Program Support (CAPS). The University Honors Program provides small rewarding classes that test your intellect without exams. You can work out at Johnson Center, watch movies in the SUB Theater, and go to free basketball and football games!

Get your parents involved: UNM Parent Relations

Keep your parents connected through UNM's Parent Relations Office and Parent Association, which serve families of UNM students. Encourage your parents to sign up for the monthly parent e-newsletter.
