KNME Ready to Learn Workshops
READY TO LEARN workshops are designed to inform parents and/or caregivers of young children about the educational messages in children's public television programs, and how active and interactive viewing, along with books and other activities, extend learning and enrich a child's learning experience. These workshops educate parents and caregivers on how to best utilize the programming available and how to take advantage of the educational outreach materials provided by shows such as SESAME STREET, MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD, BARNEY & FRIENDS, ARTHUR, WISHBONE and others.

Since becoming a READY TO LEARN station in 1996, KNME-TV has held 43 workshops, trained almost 200 parents and 500 caregivers and has reached over 11,500 children. KNME-TV has been involved with quality educational programming for children since its inception in 1958, and broadcasts over 9 hours of quality educational children's programming Monday through Friday.
