
Two-week Intensive English Summer Intersession course for International Teaching Assistants at the Center for English Language and American Culture (CELAC) at the University of New Mexico.
The Center for English Language and American Culture (CELAC), UNM’s Intensive
English Program is again offering the English Summer Intersession course for
International Teaching Assistants (ITAs). This course is designed specifically
for new or continuing international TAs, GAs, RAs or researchers/scholars to
help improve English abilities as well as for participants to become acclimated
to the environment of an American university. Instruction is provided in the
areas of:
This two-week intensive class for ITAs has been growing since 2006 and we look forward to having a great group of participants again this year. Students gain confidence in classroom delivery skills, formal conversation in an academic context, and managing typical situations that arise while studying and working at the university and interacting with American students.
Schedule:
August 3rd – August 13th
First week: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 12:00 am
Second week: Monday – Thursday, 9:00 am – 12:00 am
(No class on Friday 8/14 due to International Graduate Student Orientation)
All classes will be taught in Mesa Vista Hall - classrooms to be announced. We understand that new graduate students may have to miss some class time due to Graduate Dept. orientations.
Price and Application:
Price for the two week course is $350 which includes
