BA in English; minor in Linguistics, New Mexico State University
Bart started teaching at CELAC in the Spring semester of 2010. He is currently a graduate student at the University of New Mexico, pursuing his MA in Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Studies with a concentration in TESOL. Bart’s passion for teaching ESL and cultural studies began in 2000. While an undergraduate student at NMSU, Bart was a volunteer ESL tutor and an active member of Assembly of International Ambassadors, an organization that helped foreign exchange students to adjust to life in the United States. After graduation, Bart lived in Seoul, South Korea for over 3 years, working as a full-time ESL instructor. At this institute, he taught several ESL courses including Honors sections of Writing, Speaking, Grammar, Listening, Reading and Comprehension.
Bart enjoys meeting new people, traveling, and being active in the community. He loves to learn about other languages. In the past he has studied Spanish and French, and he is currently a student of Korean. When he is not teaching or studying, Bart is a volunteer soccer coach and a Sunday school teacher. He is also an avid reader and writer.
