About The University of New Mexico
- The University of New Mexico is situated in Albuquerque, a city of approximately 700,000 people in the sunny Southwest.
- The University of New Mexico has a student population of 26,000. Although most undergraduates come from the Albuquerque area, there are many students from other states and over 900 international students from more than 80 countries.
- UNM offers 210 certificate and degree programs with 93 bachelor’s degrees, 68 master’s degrees and 37 doctoral degrees in the following nine colleges: Anderson Schools of Management, School of Architecture and Planning, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Education, School of Engineering, College of Fine Arts, University College, School of Law, and the Health Sciences Center. It is a major university in the state of New Mexico, and an educational center for the southwestern United States.
About New Mexico
- Albuquerque combines beautiful scenery, fantastic year-round weather, a multitude of outdoor activities and is the home of the world’s largest hot air balloon fiesta.
- A wide variety of attractions are available from restaurants, theaters and museums to shopping centers, casinos and sports activities. Albuquerque is located at the southern tip of the Rocky Mountains where visitors can enjoy nearby skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, camping, whitewater rafting and other outdoor activities.
- Nearby Santa Fe is famous for the arts, southwestern design and architecture, and shopping and dining of all kinds. The world-famous Grand Canyon is only a few hours west of Albuquerque. Traveling south brings you to White Sands National Monument, Carlsbad Caverns National Park and the U.S.-Mexico border.
