Level Restrictions

Level Restriction

A student who requires a level restriction override must complete a green card.  Each student is admitted to a specific level (associates, undergraduate, graduate, etc.).  Each course also has a level (associates, undergraduate, graduate, etc.).  If a student wished to enroll in a course outside their level the student may find s/he is not allowed to enroll in the course due to a level restriction.  To obtain permission to enroll in the course, the student must process a green card.  A student is not able to register without the green card allowing override of the level restriction.

Examples of level restrictions are:
  • Associate level student who wishes to enroll in an undergraduate course (300+) for associate credit
(BANNER CODE: Student = AD, Course = AD level)

  • Associate level student who wishes to enroll in an undergraduate course (300 +) for undergraduate credit
(BANNER CODE: Student = AD level, Course = NU level)

  • A law or medical student who wishes to enroll in a graduate level course for graduate credit
(BANNER CODE: Student = Prof level, Course = GR level)

  • A business student who wishes to enroll in a law course for graduate credit
(BANNER CODE: Student = GR, Course = GR)
