Thesis and Dissertation information for UNM Graduate Students
Dissertation Defense Announcements
Each semester announcements of dissertation defenses are posted on this website when the doctoral students are defending their research to complete the program degree requirements.
Your graduate unit has the right to require that you provide them with a copy of your thesis or dissertation and that certain original records and materials be retained as the property of the University of New Mexico. Publication rights to the thesis or dissertation are reserved to you as the author.
This section provides the student with Front Matter templates to generate the Red-Border pages. Examples of completed Front Matter is included as a valuable visual reference. An optional format style used by specific research disciplines is found in the 'LaTeX Style File'.
Theses and dissertations are submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies in an electronic PDF format to the DSpace digital repository. The university encourages open access to all electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) that are produced in the course of graduate work at UNM.
In some cases it is not appropriate for the dissertation or thesis to be immediately accessible in this way. For this reason UNM provides several options for embargos (restrictions on availability) of the dissertation or thesis.
