1967 and 1968   First Place in Physics at both International Science Fairs – These diverse projects involved fluid flow and embodied much aesthetic value. Also received awards from NASA, IEEE, WESCON and many others.

1982 and 1984   Residency Grants at the Wurlitzer Foundation in Taos, NM

2004   World Lifetime Achievement Award (for Art and Poetry), American Biographical Institute (ABI)

2005   Legion of Honor, one of 5 elected internationally “for significance of contribution to worldwide humanity and personal excellence in achievement” by the United Cultural Convention, an international organization devoted to promoting world peace and unity

           21st Century Award for Achievement (for Elevating Art and Poetry), International Biographical Centre (IBC), Cambridge, England

           Genius Laureate of the United States (for Art and Poetry), ABI

2006   Inducted into the Hall of Fame of the International Biographical Centre in Cambridge, England where his work will be honored in perpetuity

           Inaugurated as Sovereign Ambassador in the Order of American Ambassadors, an international, non-governmental order of merit

           Invited to be an American Ambassador to the World Forum at Oxford University, England; also invited to be the Ambassador General from the United States to the United Cultural Convention

             Named a Da Vinci Laureate (for Art that Transcends), IBC

             Invited to be an Honorary Director General for the Americas to the International Biographical Centre

2007   Named to the IBC Roll of Honour (for Serene Art that Elevates and Unites) Will be honoured in Frontispiece and profiles in all future volumes of Great Lives of the 21st Century, Dictionary of International Biography, 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century and the Cambridge Blue Book.

            Invited to be a Vice President of the World Congress of Art, Science and Communication (Cambridge, England)

GREAT MINDS OF THE 21st CENTURY, 2004-5, American Biographical Institute.  Only 1,000 were chosen worldwide and 50 of those were honored with an extended essay and having the book dedicated to them. Paul was one of those honored. Other dedicatees included Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama and Stephen Hawking.

2000 OUTSTANDING INTELLECTUALS OF THE 21ST CENTURY, 2005, IBC

500 GREATEST GENIUSES OF THE 21ST CENTURY, 2008, ABI.  As Genius Laureate of the United States, Paul received a 7 page essay in the frontispiece.

THE DANCE OF THE PENCIL: Serene Art by Paul Ré was published as a limited edition book in 1993.  THE JOURNAL OF THE PRINT WORLD reviewed it as “one of the outstanding artbooks of the year”.  Other excellent reviews have appeared in ALBUQUERQUE ARTS, THE BLOOMSBURY REVIEW, WEEKLY ALIBI, CROSSWINDS WEEKLY, STEPPIN’ OUT, an interview on KUNM Radio, and elsewhere.                                                                

These accolades introduce Paul’s greatest reward which is when people are moved by his art toward peace and fulfillment.                                      (April 2008)
