Presidential panel

The UNM General Library’s Open Doors series recently presented “Crossroads in UNM History: Presidential Voices and Visions,” featuring five former UNM presidents. From left, William E. “Bud” Davis, 1975-’82; Tom Farer, 1985-’86; Ferrel Heady, 1968-’75; moderator Mari-Luci Jaramillo, emerita vice president for student affairs; Richard E. Peck, 1990-’98; and John Perovich, 1982-’84. Each spoke of the qualities and strengths needed by the next president. They discussed individual achievements as well as difficulties encountered during their presidency and a vision for the institution. President F. Chris Garcia made opening remarks.
