Advancement
provides happy holiday for PB&J, hospital
The UNM
Advancement division collected items valued at more than $2,500
for Peanut Butter and Jelly (PB&J) Family Services of New
Mexico and books for Childrens Hospital of New Mexico
during its holiday Spirit of Giving drive recently.
The division
presented a check for $1,000 from Moose Lodge 1517 to PB&J
and various other items including a laminator donated by Belews
Office Supply, a VCR and color TV, an aquarium donated from
Clarks Pet Emporium, glider chair and books from the UNM
Bookstore and KNMEs Ready to Learn Program.
Other items included gloves and hats, art supplies, toys and
much more.
Advancement
donated literature for toddlers through adolescents to Childrens
Hospital. These were divided and distributed to the Childrens
Psychiatric Center, the Para Los Ninos clinic for
sexually abused children, the Los Pasos clinic for
single moms dealing with poverty and abuse, the SELECTT Program
which serves young children from families coping with various
issues including substance abuse and domestic violence, and
the Child Life Program at UNMH for youngsters with medical challenges.

vice president for Advancement, said she was grateful for the
generosity of the employees of Advancement which includes Alumni
Relations, Development, KNME TV, Public Affairs, and Marketing
and Communications.
