Gilfeather, Ingber take new posts

Frank L. Gilfeather has been named interim associate vice provost for Research, said Terry Yates, vice provost for Research. Gilfeather served as executive director of the High Performance Computing Education and Research Center (HPCERC) at UNM for the past 10 years.

Yates also announced that Marc Ingber, professor and chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department at UNM, has been named executive director of the HPCERC, effective Jan.1.

“Frank founded HPCERC and the Maui High Performance Center and in doing so made UNM a national player in high performance computing,” Yates said. “We look forward to his help and vision in the office of Vice Provost for Research.”

Gilfeather serves as professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UNM. He has served as special assistant to the dean of Arts and Sciences and as department chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
