Presidential
candidates visit UNM
Two presidential candidates, Louis Caldera and Larry Edward
Penley, completed campus visits last week. Remaining candidates
will visit as follows:
April 14-15, Edward John Ray, executive vice president
and provost at the Ohio State University, Columbus.
April 17-18, Carlos Santiago, provost and vice president
for Academic Affairs at the University at Albany, State University
of New York.
April 22-23, Linda Bunnell Shade, chancellor emerita,
the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
Each finalist, on the first day of his or her respective visit,
will participate in a UNM Staff Forum from 11 to 11:45 a.m.
in Hodgin Hall; Faculty Forum from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. in Dane
Smith Hall, rm. 120; and Student Forum from 3 to 3:45 p.m.,
in the Zimmerman Library Willard Reading Room.
On the first day of each visit the public can meet the candidate
from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Sheraton Old Town.
A reception at University House will be held the second day
for each candidate -- from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for Ray and 10
to 11 a.m. for Santiago and Bunnell Shade.
