Presidential candidates visit UNM

Two presidential candidates, Louis Caldera and Larry Edward Penley, completed campus visits last week. Remaining candidates will visit as follows:

—April 14-15, Edward John Ray, executive vice president and provost at the Ohio State University, Columbus.

—April 17-18, Carlos Santiago, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at the University at Albany, State University of New York.

—April 22-23, Linda Bunnell Shade, chancellor emerita, the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

Each finalist, on the first day of his or her respective visit, will participate in a UNM Staff Forum from 11 to 11:45 a.m. in Hodgin Hall; Faculty Forum from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. in Dane Smith Hall, rm. 120; and Student Forum from 3 to 3:45 p.m., in the Zimmerman Library Willard Reading Room.

On the first day of each visit the public can meet the candidate from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Sheraton Old Town.

A reception at University House will be held the second day for each candidate -- from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for Ray and 10 to 11 a.m. for Santiago and Bunnell Shade.
