New
Mexico Governor Bill Richardson recently named local businessman
Doug Brown, president and CEO of Tuition Plan, Inc., member
of the UNM Board of Regents. Brown replaces former Regent Larry
Willard who resigned to become chairman of the New Mexico Economic
Development Corp.
Brown,
fomer chairman of the Talbot Financial Corp. in Albuquerque,
served two terms as national head of Stanford University annual
fundraising, and served as as Stanford University Trustee from
1994-98. He earned both his undergraduate and master's degrees
from that institution.
At the
Aug. 12 Board of Regents meeting, James H. Koch was elected
president of the board in a 6-1 vote by his peers. Acting Regent
President Jack Fortner opted to return to his position as vice
president.
