Debate
on America's role at UNM Oct. 6
Dr. Roger
Hagengruber, UNM Center for Public Policy director will be among
the panelists discussing foreign policy issues at the UNM hosted
event "The People Speak: America debates its role in the
world" set for Monday, Oct. 6 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at
the UNM Continuing Education bldg. in conference rm. C.
A reception
will be held from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. RSVP to Adriana Badal, 688-4715.
Dress
warm Oct. 15-19 for steam interruption
Steam service
will be interrupted in the majority of campus buildings Wednesday,
Oct. 15 through Sunday, Oct. 19 in order to make critical repairs
to the UNM steam distribution system.
The scheduled
outage is a fundamental part of the maintenance plan for Ford
Utilities Center and its distribution systems throughout the
UNM campus. Those who will be on campus during the time of maintenance
should be prepared to dress warmly.
The outages
will continue to be performed during spring and fall breaks.

Recreational
Services wins Homecoming prize
A dozen
UNM offices took on a splash of color for Carnival on the Rio,
UNM's Homecoming theme and participated in a decorating contest.
Recreational
Services took first place earning lunch for up to 10 persons
at Bene Pizza and Pasta Restaurant at the SUB, tickets to the
ovation series, Homecoming posters, and gift certificates from
the Maxwell and UNM Bookstore.
The Office
of the Registrar earned second place and tying for third was
Anderson Schools, General Accounting and the Maxwell Museum.
Prizes were awarded courtesy of Sonic, the Alumni Office and
UNM Press.
UNM
gears up for Bike and Walk to School Day
UNM will
participate in Bike and Walk to School Day, Oct.
8.
Free refreshments
will be served at the duck pond from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Information
tables will be set up from 10 a.m.- 1p.m. Learn about exercise,
bike upkeep and more. An Employee Health Promotion Program (EHPP)
walk begins at noon.
