Resource
Management director hired
John Whittaker
has been hired as director of Resource Management at UNM. He
is slated to begin his duties in January.
Whittaker
will be responsible for taking the lead in budget analysis for
the academic division, preparing budget guidelines, coordinating
capital outlay requests and special legislative projects. He
will also act as liaison between academic and financial divisions.
Whittaker
comes to UNM from his position as vice chancellor for Administrative
Affairs at the University of Hawaii at Hilo where he had extensive
financial responsibilities.
We
are happy to find a director with this kind of experience for
UNM, says Provost Brian Foster. This position requires
a person with a strong background and a great ability to work
with many different constituencies. Were pleased to have
found him.
UNM has
11 degree-granting schools and colleges, including the only
schools of Medicine, Law, Pharmacy and Architecture and Planning
in the state. The University serves a diverse student population
of nearly 30,000 students on five campuses.
