Project LINK
expects busy year
Project implementation
nears rollout
By Fred Youberg
On behalf of all staff and faculty working on Project LINK, it’s my pleasure to welcome you back to a new and, what is expected to be, a very important year for UNM.
Of particular significance this year will be the July 1 “go-live” date for the Project LINK Finance application. With its implementation, we will realize a major part of Project LINK’s multi-year effort to replace its existing administrative systems with new, state-of-the-art, Web-based applications. When complete, the Finance application will replace our legacy accounting, purchasing, equipment inventory and accounts payable systems.
This year we will also begin implementation of the Project LINK Student/Academic and Student Financial Aid applications. These applications include Recruitment, Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Advisement, Scheduling, Grading, and Housing. We will also begin initial planning for the Project LINK Human Resources/Payroll implementation project, scheduled to begin a year from now.
Indeed, this will be an exciting year for UNM and Project LINK. I invite you, if you are not already, to get involved and stay informed about Project LINK. Look to Campus News, the LINK Update, information on the Project LINK website, http://link.unm.edu/, and other news sources for information about new developments and progress reports.
