Bahm selected director of the University Art Museum
Linda Bahm is the new permanent director of the University Art Museum.
Bahm has served as interim director since 2001. She has also worked at the UNM Maxwell Museum of Anthropology.
“There’s an excitement to doing exhibitions,” Bahm says. “You do research, have opening nights, and meet people with fascinating stories.”
One of the first priorities for Bahm will be to apply for professional accreditation of the museum.
The University Art Museum has a collection of more than 31,000 works, primarily on paper. The photography collection at the museum is internationally recognized.
Wohlert begins interim associate provost duties
Amy Wohlert is already on the job in her new post as interim associate provost of Academic Affairs.
Deputy Provost of Academic Affairs Richard Holder says, “She brings to our office a perspective that is much needed as we move forward to consider important curriculum and student issues in the next few years.”
Wohlert replaces Nancy Uscher, who moved to become provost at the California Institute of Arts.
Wohlert has served as chair of the Speech and Hearing Sciences Department.
She will work on curriculum and student matters and will have a major role in the Core Curriculum Task Force.
The task force has been established to re-examine the core curriculum at the university.
