University policies approved, revised
Updated Big Red manual available online
President Louis Caldera recently approved the UNM Policy 2310 “Academic Adjustments for Students with Disabilities.” The policy provides guidance and procedures for students, staff and faculty regarding academic adjustments required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Two additional policies related to the Project LINK Finance implementation – Policy 2000 “Responsibility and Accountability for University Information and Transactions” and Policy 2590 “Access to Administrative Computer Systems” – were also approved. In addition, Caldera approved revisions to 27 existing policies. A summary of affected policies is available on the UNM Policy Website, www.unm.edu/~ubppm.
The University Business Policies and Procedures Manual, also known as “Big Red,” is available in electronic format on the Intranet at www.unm.edu/~ubppm. This format ensures wide access to policies, enables electronic searches and allows for quick update of policies.
Paper copies of new and revised policies will no longer be mailed to manual custodians, so if a department wishes to continue to maintain a hard copy of its manual, the manual custodian needs to click on the links provided on the UNM Policy Website (www.unm.edu/~ubppm) and print out replacement pages to insert in the manual.
“We encourage everyone to use the electronic version of the manual. You will always have the most recent policies and not run the risk that a hard copy manual has not been updated,” said Carol Stephens, UNM Policy Office manager.
Email notifications will explain new policies and revisions and include links to updated policies. Further updates are available via email to those subscribed to the bigred listserv, visit https://list.unm.edu for directions on how to subscribe.
