Beffort appointed to facilities management top post

Steve Beffort has been appointed new associate vice president for facilities management. His first assignment will be to develop a strategic facilities master plan that will fit the needs of the university as it navigates a period of rapid expansion. He will work with Executive Vice President for Administration David Harris.

Beffort has been the executive director of the Center for Support of Economic Development at Anderson Schools of Management and has extensive experience in state government. As secretary of the New Mexico General Services Department he developed and implemented a strategic plan for state owned and leased properties.


Mock joins Arts Technology Center team

Melody Mock has been named interim associate director of the UNM Arts Technology Center .

Director Ed Angel recruited Mock to develop projects integrating arts and technology across campus.

Mock is the former director of exhibits and programs for the local nonprofit arts organization Magnifico, which closed its downtown gallery in August. She recently launched an online project, “Contemporary Albuquerque,” a cyber art space designed to help people view, share and discuss local contemporary arts.
