Convocations take
place May 10-11
New Mexico
state leaders and a Pueblo poet are among this years UNM
convocation speakers. Departmental ceremonies will take place
on campus and in the community Friday, May 10 and Saturday,
May 11.
On Saturday,
Michael J. Davis, state superintendent of public instruction,
will speak to College of Education graduates at noon in Johnson
Center. Ray Powell, state land commissioner, gives the talk
for biology graduates at 11:30 a.m. in Castetter Hall, room
100.
Honorary Degree recipient Poet Simon Ortiz of Acoma Pueblo is
the English department speaker appearing at noon in Woodward
Hall, 101.
The UNM
Alumni Association will hold an open house for graduating seniors
daily Monday, May 6 through Friday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. at Hodgin Hall.
