In Brief
Chronicle takes
note of economics convocation
A recent
issue of the Chronicle of Higher Education noted that UNM is
one of two universities in the country to take advantage of
new technology for convocation exercises.
The UNM
Economics Department and three departments at the University
of Pennsylvania are the pilot users of a new website and wireless
technology that allows students to display personal messages
on video screens as they collect their diplomas.
The computerized
system MarchingOrder, created by two recent Penn graduates,
added a personal message to our ceremony, Economics
Department administrator Lourdes McKenna told the Chronicle.
I think the students were very impressed with it.
