UNM MEDIA ADVISORY for Jan. 27, 2006

What: Announcement of federal funding for t he Long Wavelength Array, an instrument that will make major contributions to our understanding of the ionosphere as well as the cosmos. The core of the instrument will be cited adjacent to the VLA on the plains of San Augustin.

Who: U.S. Representative Heather Wilson, UNM Vice President for Research and Economic Development Terry Yates and Richard Bevilacqua, Naval Research Laboratory.

When: Friday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m.

Where: The University of New Mexico Center for High Performance Computing, 1601 Central Ave. NE. (Parking will be in the UNM Parking Services lot on the northwest corner of University and Central.)
