UNM Regents Encourage Participation in Candidate Forums
Campus interviews with the five finalists for president of the University of New Mexico begin next Tuesday. UNM regents invite community members as well as students, faculty and staff to take part in the several open forums that have been scheduled for each candidate.
This will be your opportunity to meet, question and evaluate each of the five candidates. We look forward to your input, said UNM Regents President Jamie Koch. You'll likely spot several of the regents at each of these meetings, because we want to see first-hand how each of the candidates interacts with these important constituency groups.
Koch said that each candidate will meet in open forum with faculty, staff, and students on the main campus and at the Health Sciences Center. The Faculty Senate, Staff Council, and student government are hosting their respective forums, and these groups can be contacted for more information. Each candidate will also be the guest of honor at a reception at the Albuquerque Hilton to which UNM alumni and foundation board members, as well as the general public, are invited.
Koch notes each candidate will also meet with leadership groups like the deans meetings the regents will not attend. He expects these will feature frank discussion and the free flow of ideas.
These are the scheduled dates for the candidates to be on campus with the times and locations for the open meetings:
