A motor in a dryer duct caught fire, causing smoke and setting off alarms, but the fire extinguished itself, according to a press release Thursday.
Users were allowed back in the building about 2 p.m. to retrieve clothing and other belongings, and classes were canceled at the center.
The fitness center was scheduled to re-open today, and classes in the facility will resume.
